Job Summary
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Design mechanical systems supporting new nuclear power plant designs or modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
Work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US.
Perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility.
Function in a responsible engineer capacity which includes:
Actively seek?to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership.
Provide technical direction and guidance to others.
Assign?tasks to and coordinate?with other internal/external team members on complex projects.
Perform?complex research and develop?recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
Understand, manage,?and adhere?to project budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Initiate contact with other disciplines as needed to ensure proper workflow sequence.
The Team
The Mechanical Engineering Department is a global team that delivers?high quality, on time design and services projects in the areas of Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Waste Water, Data Centers, and Mining including everything Mechanically related to Process and Power (from Conventional, Combined Heat and Power, Hydro, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Solar/Renewable, LNG, Ammonia, Fertilizer) projects to specialized Air Quality Control, HVAC, Fire Protection, Piping, Thermal and Renewable performance estimating and testing.

Preferred Qualifications
Desired experience for this position includes expertise in the following areas:
Nuclear Power Plant System design
Condensate and Feedwater systems?
Cooling water, including closed cycle systems
High Pressure / Intermediate Pressure / Low / Auxiliary Steam systems?
Instrument and/or Service Air Systems?
Demineralized (DM) water supply and make up systems.?
Service and Potable?water supply system
P&ID development?
Performing calculations such as?pipe sizing calculations, pipe thickness calculations, pump sizing calculation, control valve sizing calculations, heat exchanger sizing, atm. tank sizing etc.?
Preparation of technical specifications for mechanical equipment, piping, and valves.
Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to nuclear power plants.
Written technical Communications.
Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable codes, standards, and regulations related to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing or equivalent experience in engineering work.
Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.

Work Environment and Schedule
This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also be require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
